Bottas swaps plane for bike on 350km trip to Singapore Grand Prix

Finnish Formula One driver Valtteri Bottas has opted to cycle to the next race in Singapore rather than fly, taking on a journey of around 350 kilometres from Malaysia.

“Yea I’m riding to Singapore,” the 37-year-old Cadillac driver wrote on social media, alongside a video showing the start of his trip on a gravel bike.

Bottas is a keen cyclist and is in a relationship with Australian professional rider Tiffany Cromwell.

The former Mercedes driver retired early from Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix in Sepang and set off on his cycling trip soon afterwards.
