After a narrow 2-1 pre-season friendly loss to Wehen Wiesbaden today, Tom Bischof shared his thoughts on Bayern Munich’s performance.

“We controlled the game for long stretches. We perhaps lacked a bit of movement, but that’s normal after just one week of training.

“It’s a pity we ended up losing in the end, because the win was there for the taking. Overall, the boys did a good job,” he said.

With a handful of stars still absent on their post World Cup breaks, Bischof also stepped up to convert Bayern’s only goal from the spot.

“Today, it was clear that I was going to take the ball for the penalty. I’ve been practicing penalties a lot recently.

“I felt confident [to take the penalty today], and I’m glad it paid off,” the 21-year-old midfielder concluded.
