Bills injury report: Dalton Kincaid upgraded, but offensive line questions remain

· · 2 min read

Not much changed on the Buffalo Bills’ injury report as they completed their second day of practice as they gear up to take on the NFC’s two-seeded Minnesota Vikings.

Here’s what changed:

There were a few minor changes that ensures us the Bills’ PR department didn’t just copy and paste yesterday’s report.

  • Ty Johnson returned to practice, but now it’s Sam Franklin, Jr. who is out with an illness. No worries, like Johnson, it’s likely he will be back tomorrow.
  • Dalton Kincaid was upgraded to a full participant. It’s a good sign for the fourth-year tight end who is still looking to finish a full season without missing any playing time.
  • Khalil Shakir missed Friday’s practice for personal reasons. Nothing to worry about here.
  • Deone Walker was listed with a thumb injury for the first time. Whatever the injury is, it didn’t keep him from participating fully on Friday.

Here’s what we’re watching:

  • Dion Dawkins missed a second straight day of practice with a rib injury. It’s an injury he says came in the first quarter of last week’s win over the Baltimore Ravens. The Bills’ left tackle said he plans to be ready to go Monday night.
  • Alec Anderson not practicing for two days with an ankle injury is not a good sign. He was seen in a boot after Sunday’s game. I would bet he misses Monday. The question is will it be Tylan Grable or Austin Corbett in his slot.
  • Spencer Brown has been limited both days this week. I would expect he gets a questionable designation Saturday, but suits up anyway. The question is how long can he go Monday night without his back seizing back up.

The Buffalo Bills game plan likely has a lot of James Cook in it. That and some really quick slants. Will a patched up front line be able to hold?

As for the Vikings, they only had a few changes of their own on Friday’s report.

  • Running back Demond Claiborne was downgraded from limited with a knee injury to not practicing at all.
  • Wide receiver Juan Jennings was also downgraded from limited with a calf injury to a did-not-participate.
  • They had three players move from limited to full practice today: OT Christian Darrisaw, LB Jake Golday, and CB Isaiah Rodgers
