Biggest snubs from Bengals' 53-man roster after final cuts

The Cincinnati Bengals revealed the initial 53-man roster at the NFL’s deadline. 

Those Bengals produced some big snubs in the process. 

Among the surprises were the Bengals going super light at linebacker with just four names, while also keeping just three running backs. 

Granted, the roster will change as waiver wire claims and other possible moves happen over the next couple of days. 

For now, though, these are the biggest early snubs from the Bengals’ roster. 

Grandy is a solid all-around player who fits just what they want. But the Bengals have a brutal numbers game going at tight end right now. They no doubt want him back on the practice squad, but it’s pretty safe wto presume another team will swoop in for him. 

Last year, Tinsley pretty famously reminded some fans of Marvin Jones with his play in the base offense. This year, he’s out because of a breakout draft pick like Colbie Young and the sudden rise of Dohnte Meyers. He’s one of the better fifth or sixth wideouts in the league, if not higher, and won’t be off an NFL roster long. 

The quiet arrival of Swayze Bozeman led to a little breakout for him and a nice depth find for the Bengals. It’s a bad outcome for Heyward, though, who loses the numbers game after the Bengals initially only go with four on the final roster. He was a solid depth and special teams option.
