Big Papi, Tampa Bay Rays roast Yankees after ALDS loss
MLB fans should have guessed that FOX Sports’ Big Papi, also known as David Ortiz, would have something planned if the New York Yankees lost in the ALDS.
This year, he did not have his partner in crime, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doing the “Yankees lose” chant that went viral in 2025.
However, Big Papi and the Tampa Bay Rays found funny ways to needle the Yankees fanbase, including Papi’s FOX counterparts Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter.

Papi did a piece entitled “Chilligan’s Island” where the Yankees can now go to rest and relax since the season is over.
He had life-size figures in his Chilligan’s Island set including A-Rod and Jeter in Yankees uniforms.
To further celebrate, he served tequila shots and uttered his “Yankees lose” phrase a few times. A-Rod and Jeter took the ribbing like pros; however, Jeter declined the tequila.
Fans do not necessarily get big doses of the FOX team during the MLB season; however, everyone tunes in for the postseason to watch these guys at work. The combination of Kevin Burkhardt, A-Rod, Ortiz, and Jeter is top notch, with or without special guests as they had the previous night with Justin Verlander.
The Rays had the traditional locker room celebration with goggles, alcohol sprayed and drunk, and added the special touch of playing Frank Sinatra’s “New York New York” anthem in the background.
The soaked players formed a circle, swaying and belting out the lyrics to the iconic tune.
