Ben Johnson called Jared Goff after latest mobility dig

After the Bears beat the Eagles on Monday night with third-string quarterback Case Keenum, Chicago coach Ben Johnson made another cheeky remark about Lions quarterback Jared Goff’s lack of mobility.

Appearing on the St. Brown podcast with teammate Amon-Ra and his brother Equanimeous, Goff said he already heard from Johnson.

“Ben can’t seem to get out of his own way when he’s talking to the media,” Goff said. “So I know there was no ill intent to that. But, you know, he seems to be a lightning rod for them. They pick up everything he says. It’s funny. He messaged me or called me this morning and was like, ‘Dude, you know that means nothing.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, dude, you’re good. Don’t worry about it.'”

It was the second time Johnson made a comment about Goff’s lack of speed and agility. This time, a smirk of two from Johnson as the question was being asked suggested that he ran the remark through the filter and opted to let if fly.

And Goff has figured out the rules of engagement. He said he’ll now have to think of something he can say that will be perceived as a shot at Johnson. Goff added that, after he says it, he’ll call Johnson and say he was just kidding.
