Belgium coach fears Onana won't be available for Spain clash

Belgium coach Rudi Garcia fears that midfielder Amadou Onana won’t be available for the World Cup quarter-finals against Spain on Friday due to injury.

“I’m afraid Amadou will miss the next game in the tournament. I hope not, but I have a feeling he won’t be playing,” he said on Monday after the 4-1 win over co-hosts United States in the last 16.

Onana had to be subbed off in the 21st minute after he seemed to overstretch and hurt his right knee.

“We fear it’s a serious injury. This isn’t good news for him or for us as a team,” Garcia said.
