Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer beats Thomas Müller trophy record

There were a number of close calls but Bayern Munich did just enough to defeat their bitter rivals, Borussia Dortmund, in the 2026 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup. New signing Nathaniel Brown scored in the 28th minute and Michael Olise provided the eventual game winner during stoppage time of the first half.

Minding the net with the captain’s armband, Manuel Neuer won another German Supercup. This win means Neuer finally caught his longtime Bayern and Germany teammate, Thomas Müller, with eight victories in the preseason cup. More importantly, Neuer also surpassed Müller with his overall trophy count (via @iMiaSanMia).

Manuel Neuer has won his 36th career trophy, making him the most decorated German player of all-time.
