Nathaniel Brown believes Bayern Munich “have brutal quality in the squad” as he looks to make an impact in his debut season.

The 23-year-old completed a €50m move from Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this summer, joining Ismael Saibari through the door at the Allianz Arena.

Across the last two Bundesliga seasons, only Alejandro Grimaldo (25), Julian Ryerson (20) and Maximilian Mittelstadt (18) have directly contributed to more goals than Brown (17 – seven goals, 10 assists) among defenders.

And among Frankfurt players, Brown has won the most tackles (99), the second-most duels (249) and recorded the joint-fifth-most interceptions (41) since the start of the 2024-25 season.

Brown was unveiled at a press conference on Wednesday, where it was announced he would wear the number 11 shirt.

The versatile left-back is eager to get the season underway with his Bayern team-mates as he wants to prove his skill.

“We have brutal quality in the squad,” said Brown at his unveiling.

“We have great quality, especially in attack but also in defence. It’s certainly a bit different to what I’ve been used to.

“The coach explains a lot to us, especially as a former defender. It’s very impressive. We worked on the back four straight away in the first training session.

“I want to show what I can do. I know what I can do and what I can’t do. The coach has already shown me what I do well – I’ve spoken a lot to him.

“I want to play as many matches as possible, help the team and ultimately win trophies.”

Bayern’s first competitive game of the season comes in the DFL-Supercup against Borussia Dortmund on August 22.

Vincent Kompany’s side then host Stuttgart to start their Bundesliga title defence six days later.
