Bavarian Loan Works: Arijon Ibrahimović scores on international duty

Most of Bayern Munich‘s loanees had a break this week during the international break. Arijon Ibrahimović and Deniz Ofli played for their respective U-21 sides, while Julien Yanda and Anna Wellmann’s clubs were still active. See how these four performed in this condensed version of Bavarian Football Works.

Notes: those with idle clubs and no international callups were omitted this week.

Arijon Ibrahimović is the only player on loan in the Bundesliga

Ibrahimović is with Germany’s U21s for UEFA U-21 qualifiers. He started on the bench for the first match — away to Latvia in Riga. He came off the bench in the 59th minute with Germany already up 3-0. He scored the fourth and final goal for Germany in the 76th minute and Germany held on for the 4-0 win.

Germany’s U21s will be away to Malta on Wednesday.

There are two players from the second team on loan to Germany’s 2. Bundesliga: Javier Fernández and Deniz Ofli.

Ofli made his debut at the U-21 level for Türkiye. He started and played the full 90 minutes against Ukraine in Hungary. It was a match of two halves, as Türkiye were up 2-0, but Ukraine came back with two second half goals to split the points with a 2-2 draw.

Türkiye U21 will host Hungary on October 6.

Julien Yanda is the only player on loan to Spain’s LaLiga2.

Yanda was on the bench for Eldense’s 1-0 loss away to Burgos CF but did not make it onto the pitch.

Eldense will host Real Oviedo on Friday.

Anna Wellmann is the only player on loan to Spain’s Primera División Femenina.

Wellmann started again for Eibar, on the road against Sevilla. She had immense help from her two center backs and added four saves to record yet another shutout. Eibar found a late goal in the 86th minute to earn all three points on the road, 1-0.

Eibar will be on the road again on Sunday to Granada.
