Barnet's Brennan 'honoured' to win monthly award

Barnet manager Dean Brennan has been named League Two’s manager of the month after their unbeaten start to the season.

The Bees won two and drew the third of their matches in August and have gone on to stretch their unbeaten league run to 14 games, dating back to 14 March.

Bees midfielder Charlie Lakin was nominated for player of the month but missed out to York City’s Harry Boyes.

“It’s a great honour to win the award, but this is a collective achievement for the entire football club,” Brennan told the club website.

“From the chairman and the board to my staff, the players, everyone working behind the scenes and all our matchday staff, everybody has played their part.

“The players have been outstanding and our supporters have backed us brilliantly. We’ve made a positive start, but there is still a long way to go.

“Our focus is on continuing to improve, staying together and building on the standards we’ve set.”
