Barcelona’s incredible Camp Nou record sends strong warning to Feyenoord

Barcelona will begin their 2026/27 UEFA Champions League campaign against Feyenoord with history firmly on their side.

The Dutch side’s visit comes with Barça carrying an impressive unbeaten home record against teams from the Netherlands. 

Simply put, across 10 previous meetings with Dutch opposition at Camp Nou, Barcelona have won seven and drawn three, scoring 31 goals while conceding only seven.

It is a record that stretches back almost six decades and gives Hansi Flick’s side another reason for confidence before Feyenoord arrive for their Champions League opener.

Feyenoord have already suffered in Barcelona

Barcelona’s first home meeting with Dutch opposition came during the 1965-66 season against DOS Utrecht. 

The result set the tone for what would become an almost flawless record, with the Catalan giants cruising to a 7-1 victory.

Feyenoord are not strangers to this fixture, although their previous experience at Camp Nou offers little encouragement.

The most memorable meeting between the clubs came in the 1974-75 Cup Winners’ Cup, when Barcelona produced a commanding 3-0 victory.

That result remains one of the standout performances in Barça’s long history against Dutch opponents, and Feyenoord will now attempt to avoid another difficult night in Catalonia.

Not every home meeting has produced a victory, though, as Barcelona drew 1-1 with AZ Alkmaar in 1977, while NEC Nijmegen were beaten 2-0.

The club’s most painful memory involving Dutch opposition came against PSV Eindhoven in the 1978 UEFA Cup. 

Barcelona won the second leg 3-1, but it was not enough after PSV had already established a 3-0 advantage on their home turf.

Ajax rivalry arrived surprisingly late

While PSV have arguably caused Barcelona the most problems among Dutch clubs, Ajax have provided a very different chapter in the history between the two countries’ most decorated sides.

Despite their shared footballing traditions, Barcelona did not face Ajax until 2013.

When the meeting finally arrived, Barça made the wait worthwhile, winning 4-0.

The clubs met again a year later, with Barcelona securing a 3-1 victory, before another 4-0 triumph followed during the 2018-19 campaign.

Now Feyenoord have the chance to change the story.

Barcelona’s 31-7 record at home against Dutch teams is formidable, but history will count for little once the Champions League gets underway.
