Barcelona star’s agent responds to transfer exit rumours

The representative of Barcelona star Gavi has on Thurday moved to dispel any and all speculation linking his client with a potential move away from the Spotify Camp Nou.

Midfielder Gavi is for his part in the midst of what has been a challenging campaign in Catalunya’s capital to date.

Amid the stiff competition for places in Barcelona’s midfield, the 22-year-old has fallen out of favour under the watch of manager Hansi Flick.

All told, Gavi has been afforded starts in just two of the Blaugrana’s fixtures in all competitions.

Rumours have in turn begun to spread over recent days, pointing towards a potential Camp Nou exit for the Spanish international. Serie A outfit Napoli, for one, are understood to be keeping a watchful eye on Gavi’s situation.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest comments on the part of the player’s agent are anything to go by, then the Neapolitans need not get their hopes up…

Drawn on his client’s future during an exchange with the media, as cited by Diario Sport, on Thursday, Iván de la Peña assured:

“I have not negotiated with anyone. Gavi is staying.”
