Barcelona star limps off with injury in final minutes of Real Betis clash

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Saturday been dealt a setback on the personnel front. This comes owing to a potential injury suffered by defender Eric García.

Versatile stopper Eric was for his part made use of as a substitute this evening, introduced off the bench for Gerard Martín at the interval of Barcelona’s meeting with Real Betis.

And the former Manchester City man went on to play a starring role, putting the visitors two goals to the good en route to an eventual 5-2 victory.

As alluded to above, however, late in the action at La Cartuja, Eric’s evening took a turn for the worse.

After pulling up suddenly with what appeared to be a muscular complaint, the World Cup winner was quickly hauled off by manager Hansi Flick.

Eric was from here spotted rubbing his thigh on the bench, ahead of an incoming round of medical tests to ascertain the extent of the damage done over the coming 24 hours.
