Barcelona president confirms Adeyemi deal

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that a deal to sign Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund is nearing completion.

“We are very excited about Adeyemi,” he told reporters in Dallas (via World Soccer Talk). 

“We’ve liked him for a while now. He is dangerous and fast, and the signing was handled very well by [sporting director] Deco. The news came out exactly when it was supposed to.”

Borussia Dortmund confirmed on Sunday that Adeyemi had been granted permission to hold talks with another club.

According to reports, Barcelona are paying €22 million plus up to €7 million in bonuses for the German attacker.
