Barcelona hit immediate brick wall in Lautaro Martinez transfer pursuit
Barcelona’s interest in Lautaro Martinez appears to have hit an immediate obstacle, with Inter Milan making it clear that their captain is not available for transfer.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter have received no offer from Barcelona for the Argentine striker.
More importantly, the Italian club are not expecting one and would have no interest in considering a sale even if Barcelona were to make an approach.
The report comes after Lautaro emerged as a leading name in Barcelona transfer news following the club’s apparent failure to land Julian Alvarez.
With Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres’ departures leaving a major gap in attack, the Inter captain had moved into the picture as a potential solution.
However, Inter’s position leaves little room for negotiation.

The report claims that Barcelona have not made an official proposal for Lautaro Martinez, nor have they contacted Inter indirectly to discuss a possible deal.
In fact, Inter are said to have learnt about Barcelona’s interest through media reports, particularly from the Catalan press.
Their response has been clear: Lautaro Martinez is not for sale.
For Inter, the matter is considered closed. The Argentine remains one of the most important players at the club and, as captain, holds a central role both on and off the pitch.
The 28-year-old is coming off another strong season, having played a key role during Inter’s 2025/26 campaign and helped the Nerazzurri add further domestic silverware.
That status makes any potential Lautaro Martinez transfer extremely difficult even before considering the financial side of a deal.

Barcelona’s interest in Lautaro had grown after the club accepted that Julian Alvarez was out of reach.
The search for a new centre-forward has become one of the biggest questions surrounding Barcelona’s summer transfer window.
Hansi Flick recently confirmed that the club is still looking for another attacking option, while sporting director Deco has also admitted that replacing Lewandowski is a difficult task.
Lautaro would have offered Barcelona a proven option.
Barcelona can admire Lautaro’s qualities, but Inter have given no indication that they are willing to open discussions.
Furthermore, with no official contact between the clubs and a firm refusal to entertain a sale, the path to a deal currently appears blocked.
