According to SPORT, discussions between Barcelona and Spotify are advanced but have not yet been completed.

Several alternatives have been considered in recent weeks, but the American rapper, singer and producer has increasingly moved to the front of the queue.

If the agreement is finalised, the collaboration would add another major name to one of Barcelona’s most recognisable commercial traditions.

The proposed collaboration would reportedly see the word ‘GOLF’ replace the usual Spotify branding on the front of Barcelona’s shirt.

That would be a direct reference to GOLF WANG, the fashion label created by Tyler, The Creator.

Notably, the agreement is not yet officially closed, meaning further details still need to be resolved before Barcelona can confirm Tyler, The Creator as the latest artist involved.

Barcelona and Spotify’s Clasico tradition continues

The artist shirt initiative has become a regular part of Barcelona’s biggest fixture since the club and Spotify began their partnership.

Drake was the first artist to replace the streaming platform’s logo on the Barça shirt for a Clásico in October 2022.

Rosalía followed, before The Rolling Stones, Karol G, Coldplay, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran and Olivia Rodrigo each featured in subsequent collaborations.

Tyler, The Creator would bring a different profile to the project, combining music with a significant presence in fashion and social media.

His influence is particularly strong in the United States, where he has developed a profile that extends well beyond his music.

For Barcelona, the Clasico provides enormous global exposure, while Tyler, The Creator would bring his own audience to one of football’s most watched fixtures.

Nothing has been finalised yet, but his emergence as the leading option means the identity of Barcelona’s next special Clásico shirt could soon become much clearer.
