Barcelona have announced the signing of Kerolin for a club record €1.5m (£1.25m) from Manchester City.

The transfer marks the biggest sale in Women’s Super League history, surpassing Olivia Smith’s £1m move to Arsenal from Liverpool last summer.

Kerolin has signed a four-year deal with Barca, who have made a statement signing following the exits of key players in this transfer window.

Both Alexia Putellas and Mapi Leon joined WSL side London City Lionesses, while Salma Paralluelo left the Blaugrana for Lyon, who lost to Barca in the Women’s Champions League final last year.

Kerolin joined City in January 2025 and made 26 WSL appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists.

All five of her assists came in 2025-26, along with nine goals in 15 games, as she helped City win their first top-flight title since 2016, while they also won the FA Cup.

The 26-year-old was just one of five players to score a hat-trick in the WSL last season, netting three times against Chelsea in February.

In doing so, Kerolin became the first player in WSL history to score a hat-trick against the reigning champions.
