During the 2026 Ballon d’Or voting, journalists from eligible African countries split their first-place votes among the award’s leading contenders.

Recall that Kane beat Mbappe and Lamine to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, at a ceremony in London a few days ago.

However, Senegal, Angola, South Africa, and Uganda were the only African countries to vote for Kane.

None of the three players received any vote from Nigeria. Nigeria voted for Barcelona midfielder Rodri.
