Bago condemns killing of village head in Niger palace

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed sadness over the killing of the Village Head of Galla in Borgu Emirate, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf, who was reportedly killed by suspected bandits in his palace.

The deceased was also the brother of the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi.

In a condolence message, Governor Bago condemned the killing, describing the attack on the traditional ruler in his palace as a demonstration of the “boldness and high level of insolence” of the bandits.

The governor tasked security agencies with ensuring that those responsible for the killing are apprehended and prosecuted.

Bago commiserated with Senator Sabi Abdullahi, the family of the deceased, the people of Galla and the entire Borgu Emirate over the loss.

He said the deceased lived a good life and died defending his subjects, urging the bereaved family and community to take solace in his legacy.

The governor prayed that Allah grant the deceased Aljannatul Firdaus and comfort his family and the people of Borgu Emirate.

He also assured the family, Galla community and the entire Borgu Emirate of his support.
