Atlanta Dream battles New York Liberty in Game 2 of semifinals

The Atlanta Dream return to the court Wednesday night for Game 2 of the WNBA semifinals against the New York Liberty.

The Dream took Game 1 on Sunday behind a strong third quarter and defensive performance. The team looks to stay undefeated in the playoffs and take 2-0 lead to New York

Atlanta and New York tip off for Game 2 at State Farm Arena at 7:30 p.m.

ALLISHA GRAY INJURY

Atlanta will play without its leading scorer Allisha Gray, who has been ruled out for Game 2. She injured her hand during the first quarter of Atlanta’s Game 1 win.

Head coach Karl Smesko says Gray had an X-ray and will be day-to-day.

DeWanna Bonner, who scored 23 points off the bench in Game 1, is likely to start in place of Gray.

STATE FARM ARENA NEW HOME

Game 2 also comes on the heels of a major announcement: the Dream are moving back to State Farm Arena next season.

The franchise and arena agreed to a multi-year deal on Tuesday. The Dream played at State Farm Arena, formerly known as Phillips Arena, from 2008-2016. Since 2021, they have played at Gateway Center Arena in College Park.
