‘Atiku will not become President of Nigeria’ – Masari

Presidential Adviser on Political Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, has urged Nigerians not to be distracted by the political activities of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing him as a “joker”.

Masari made the remarks on Saturday in Dutse, Jigawa State, while reacting to Atiku’s criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies and his resolve to challenge the President in the 2027 presidential election.

According to him, Atiku’s alleged desperation to return to power would not translate into victory at the polls.

“Atiku is a joker, don’t waste your time listening to him. You know desperation will not give you what you want.

“Atiku is desperate and he will not become the president of this country, inshallah,” Masari said.

Recently, the ADC presidential candidate criticised some of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies, describing them as anti-masses policies.

These policies include the removal of fuel subsidy and the closure of the country’s borders, which he said had subjected Nigerians to hardship.

The ADC recently promised to reopen the borders and restore the fuel subsidy if elected President in the 2027 election.

His assertion was criticised by the Presidency and some APC chieftains in the country, who described it as a false promise that would not be fulfilled.
