Much criticism has been fired at Thomas Tuchel for the way his England team played after taking the lead in the World Cup semifinal against Argentina through Anthony Gordon (55′).

The England boss made several defensive substitutions and had his men “park the bus”, but the plan backfired as Enzo Fernandez equalized in the 85th minute, and Lautaro Martinez rose high to head home from close range in the second minute of stoppage time to send Argentina to the final. Both goals were assisted by Lionel Messi.
