AS Monaco draw up striker shortlist in anticipation of Folarin Balogun sale

· · 1 min read

AS Monaco are anticipating the sale of Folarin Balogun this summer. Even prior to his strong performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the USMNT, interest was expected and the Principality club, who have missed out on UEFA Champions League football for next season, are not opposed to a sale.

Balogun, thanks to his three goals at the World Cup, has put himself in the shop window and there is notably interest from the Premier League. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been cited, whilst Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the Arsenal academy product.

In anticipation of his exit, a three-man shortlist has been established by Monaco, Foot Mercato understands. AJ Auxerre’s Lassine Sinayoko features on that shortlist, although a bid has yet to be tabled. Get French Football News understands, however, that the Malian striker has his sights set on a move to the Premier League amid interest from across the Channel.

Mathis Abline remains a target. Having seen a first bid of €15m rejected, Monaco remain in contact with FC Nantes, who next season will play in Ligue 2. There is a third, unnamed striker, who is currently playing his football abroad, that is on the list.
