Art Imitates The Gilded Age At Greystone Mansion In Beverly Hills

· · 2 min read

HBO Max joined forces with Greystone Mansion on October 29 to celebrate The Gilded Age season 4. Prior to the premiere this Sunday on the prestige cable channel and its companion streaming service, several members of The Gilded Age cast attended a “Gilded Golden Hour” at the landmark Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills.

ScreenRant and hundreds of other guests, all dressed in their cocktail best, gathered on the terrace for an outdoor screening of the season 4 premiere. In addition to drinks, appetizers, and the episode itself, guests were treated to a look at the ongoing exhibit hosted by the iconic estate. Fleurs de Villes: The Gilded Age is a curated collection of fresh floral mannequins designed after specific costumes from the first three seasons of the series.

But perhaps most exciting of all was the surprise appearance from The Gilded Age cast members Ben Ahlers (who plays the clock-inventing ex-servant, Jack Trotter), Kelley Curran (who plays Oscar’s bride-to-be, Enid Winterton), Harry Richardson (who plays Marian’s thwarted love, Larry Russell), and Taissa Farmiga (who plays the Russells’ daughter and new Duchess, Gladys). The foursome posed for a live impressionist painting, offered a toast, and introduced the season 4 premiere screening.

The floral costumes, created by Southern California’s greatest designers, highlight the distinct style of each main character. Bertha and George Russell’s new money aspirations opposite Agnes van Rhijn’s classic elegance or Peggy Scott and her mother’s modern vivacity must be seen to be believed, and it pairs perfectly with the turn-of-the-century architecture and opulence that have made the Greystone Mansion emblematic of Beverly Hills’ golden age.
