Arsenal interested in a January swoop for Illia Zabarnyi

Already putting together their preparations ahead of the January transfer window, Arsenal are reportedly keeping close tabs on PSG defender Illia Zabarnyi, according to Ekrem Konur.

While the Gunners might have welcomed England international Ezri Konsa to the Emirates in a reported £55million deal last month, the reigning Premier League champions are keen on adding further defensive reinforcements.

With William Saliba yet to make a single appearance since opening up the 2026/27 campaign and not expected to feature until December due to an extended back injury, the Gunners are keen on further strengthening when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

However, while fellow Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Liverpool might reportedly also be keen on a potential January swoop for the Ukrainian international, Konur is suggesting that PSG will be demanding a hefty fee.

Despite still waiting to make a maiden Ligue 1 appearance this season, it has been reported that the reigning European champions would be demanding a fee in the region of €67million.

While the former Bournemouth star might have only arrived in Paris last summer following a blockbuster £57million move from the Cherries, Zabarnyi has drastically failed to hold down a regular spot in the French capital.

Although the 24-year-old might still have four years remaining on his current deal with Luis Enrique’s side, Arsenal are keen on offering the one-time Dynamo Kyiv youngster an immediate Premier League return in January.
