Arizona Cardinals training camp roster preview: TE Jameson Geers

The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.

Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.

Geers is a rookie. He went undrafted out of Minnesota after playing there five seasons. He signed with the Cardinals as a rookie free agent after the draft.

He is 6-6 and 250 pounds. He caught 58 passes for 518 yards and nine touchdowns in his college career, with all but four of those receptions 498 of those yards coming in the last two seasons.

Geers signed a three-year deal with the Cardinals. It is worth a little more than $3.1 million. He is scheduled to make $885,000 in salary in 2026. He was paid a $15,000 signing bonus, and $110,000 of his salary is guaranteed. His cap hit in 2026, if he makes the roster, will be $890,000.

The Cardinals have three roster spots at tight end seemingly locked in with Trey McBride, Tip Reiman and Elijah Higgins. They will likely keep a fourth tight end on the roster. Geers will be in the mix for that. He probably is the least likely candidate to win that fourth spot, but a stint on the practice squad is also likely.
