Arizona Cardinals minicamp: 3 questions before practices

· · 1 min read

The Arizona Cardinals reported for mandatory minicamp on Monday. By all accounts, they had 100% attendance, including the arrival of quarterback Jacoby Brissett and linebacker Josh Sweat, both of whom did not come for the voluntary part of the offseason program.

They have two days of practice scheduled before their summer break leading to training camp.

As they get their final spring work in, there are some questions to be answered.

While Brissett and Sweat reported for camp to avoid fines, we will see if they get on-field work.

Brissett is in a contract dispute with the Cardinals, seeking a pay raise as he is expected to be the starting quarterback.

Sweat trained on his own, but he is reportedly not happy.

A number of players have been working on the side or not working at all after season-ending injuries — running backs James Conner and Trey Benson, tight end Tip Reiman, defensive lineman Walter Nolen, among others. While the plan might simply get everyone back who can in training camp, will any suit up for this week?

So far, rookies have not been with starters. Jeremiyah Love has been behind Tyler Allgeier. Chase Bisontis has been behind Isaiah Adams. They were the Cardinals’ two top draft picks. Will they get any starter reps in minicamp?
