Arizona Cardinals injury update: OL Isaiah Adams to miss at least 1 game

· · 1 min read

The Arizona Cardinals had three starters get hurt in their 36-24 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. One injury was season-ending, as left tackle Paris Johnson tore his biceps and will need surgery. A second injury was “relatively good news,” as safety Andrew Wingard suffered a knee injury, but there was no ligament damage. The time he will miss has not yet been reported yet.

Starting right guard Isaiah Adams also got hurt, suffering an ankle injury in Sunday’s loss. Head coach Mike LaFleur, when he spoke with reporters on Monday, didn’t have much of an update, but he did say that Adams is “most likely going to be out this week, but we’ll see.”

That means the Cardinals will be down two starting offensive linemen in Week 5 when they play the Detroit Lions. Rookie Jayden Williams will get the start at left tackle, and Jon Gaines will get his second start at right guard. Adams missed the season opener with a knee injury.

The Cardinals will release their first injury report of Week 5 on Wednesday, and will face the Lions at home on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET (1:25 p.m. Arizona time).
