APC NASS primaries: ‘Don’t rejoice yet’ – Gov Bago to candidates

Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has cautioned All Pogressives Congress, APC, candidates who won House of Representatives and Senate tickets not to assume they have won the general elections.

Bago made the remarks in Minna on Tuesday night while congratulating the party’s candidates shortly after the returning officer announced the primary election results.

He stressed that the flag-bearers should reach out to aspirants who stepped down and those they contested against, in the spirit of sportsmanship.

“Doing this will build a stronger party. It is important to work as a team. Don’t rejoice yet. The battle is not yet over. he said.

The governor commended the APC electoral committee for conducting the House of Representatives and Senate primaries in Niger smoothly.

He also praised those who agreed to consensus, saying that it made the committee’s work easier.

Bago thanked the electoral committee and other APC stakeholders in the state for their commitment and hard work, which according to him, ensured a successful exercise.
