Anthony Martial has his sights set on securing a Premier League return
Former Manchester United star Anthony Martial is hoping to secure a blockbuster return to the Premier League, according to TEAMtalk.
While the summer transfer window might have officially slammed shut following a rollercoaster Deadline Day on Tuesday, the French attacker is still a free agent and is searching for a new adventure.
Martial has been without a club since he mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Mexican outfit Monterrey back in June.
Despite initially putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Rayados 12 months ago, Martial could only muster a single strike in the Liga MX and made just 20 appearances.
Following uninspiring stints in both Greece and Mexico over the past two campaigns, TEAMtalk’s report suggests that Martial has already given his priority over a surprise return to the Premier League.
Still only 30 and available on a free swoop, intermediaries of the one-time Monaco starlet have already reached out to a number of top-flight clubs over the past week.
It has been suggested that the likes of Everton, Leeds, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Newcastle, Sunderland and Tottenham have all been approached and haded the opportunity to snap up the 30-cap international.
However, although Everton might have endured a nightmare Deadline Day as they watched a late move for Folarin Balogun collapse in the most dramatic of circumstances, David Moyes’ men have reportedly passed on the opportunity to bring Martial to Merseyside.
Watching Beto complete a permanent switch to Italian outfit Fiorentina and a last-gasp move for Manchester United marksman Joshua Zirkzee fail to materialise, Thierno Barry is the only recognised striking option at Moyes’ disposal.
