Angry US golf fans react as Donald Trump’s plan for Sunday at the Presidents Cup is revealed

President Donald Trump will be in attendance at Medinah for the Sunday singles matches at the Presidents Cup.

Donald Trump is a huge golf fan and, as a result, he attends many high profile events.

The 47th U.S. President was in attendance at his golf complex in Doonbeg, Ireland, to watch the Irish Open two weeks ago.

Donald Trump may be a divisive figure, but his love for the game of golf cannot be debated.

Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka both enjoyed Trump attending the Irish Open earlier this month.

And now, he will be supporting his fellow countrymen at Medinah on Sunday during the Presidents Cup singles matches.

And it seems as though the President of the United States has a special plan up his sleeve.

According to Golfweek, Trump plans to deliver a 15-minute (yes, 15-minute!) speech at Medinah ahead of the Sunday singles matches.

Many US golf fans are not happy with Trump’s plan one bit.

Numerous angry comments were posted on social media platform X in reaction to the US President’s planned speech.

“The usual jumble of un associated words hoping they form a sentence. ‘Mumble dogface banana patch. Thank you for your attention to this matter’,“ one fan joked.

While another US fan said: “Who listens to this complete clown anyway?“

And the comments continued to flood in, with fans saying: “Something stupid no doubt! I almost would like the Internationals to win today just so we don’t have to see this embarrassment tomorrow,“ and, “That will be the kiss of death for the US team.“

“Well just like the World Cup he’ll find a way to ruin it for the US,“ another fan exclaimed.

While another echoed a similar sentiment: “Thanks for the heads up. I’ll make sure to flip the station during that vomit spill.“

Many more fans shared their frustrations that Trump is making the event all about him.

Some of the comments included: “He is such an idiot. No other presidents have given a speech. This isn’t about him,“ and, “How about you fix the country instead of promoting yourself. Nobody cares what you have to say.“

One fan questioned why Trump is planning the 15-minute speech: “Why? Why does he always need to talk?“

While another suggested that the US President’s plans will adversely affect the American team: “Well there goes any comeback hopes. This guy just can’t help making everything worse.“

It will be really interesting to see the reception that President Donald Trump receives from the fans at Medinah on Sunday and, indeed, from the US Presidents Cup players.
