Andre Onana: Man United loanee’s stock rises as he keeps fourth clean sheet in five matches
Manchester United had one player on loan action on Thursday evening.
Andre Onana
The Cameroonian keeper has been in good form this season for Trabzonspor.
The Turkish side have won five matches in a row and are just three points from the top of the league.
They are also going well in the Conference League, having won two out of two matches.
The Turkish side took care of business last night, defeating Scottish side Heart of Midlothian 2-0 at home in spite of receiving a red card in the match.
The match
Onana kept a clean sheet in the match, his fourth in five matches for the Turkish club.
In a quiet match for the Cameroonian, he only had one save to make as Hearts struggled to make an impact on the game.
He saved well from a free kick in the 10th minute from Cláudio Braga.
Onana also had little to do to protect his box as he was not needed to make any high claims or to punch the ball out, as the visitors rarely threatened the home side’s goal.
His passing was quite on point, as he completed 86% of his passes and 40% of his long ball attempts as he tried to push his side up the pitch.
The keeper lost the ball six times in the match but carried the ball forwards 20 times as he left his area.
Onana also recovered the ball twice in the match and did not need to compete in any ground duels.
The keeper will next be in action when Trabzonspor travel to face Çaykur Rizespor on Monday evening.
