Another Anambra awardee, Mrs Agatha Chika Ofojindu of Urban Boys Secondary School, Onitsha, was named Best Public Junior Secondary School Administrator in Nigeria.

Ofojindu received a tricycle as her prize for emerging overall best in the category.

Other Anambra awardees also received prizes across the various categories, including a tricycle, deep freezers and laptops.

The awards recognised contributions from teachers, school administrators and schools, reflecting the different roles involved in supporting teaching, learning and school management.

Recognition Puts Anambra Education in Spotlight

The nine honours represent half of the 18 awards presented at the national event, making the achievement a significant showing for Anambra State at the 2026 President’s Teachers’ and Schools’ Excellence Awards.

The success cuts across both public and private education, with representatives of schools and education personnel earning recognition in teaching, administration and school performance categories.

The awards have further placed Anambra’s education sector in the national spotlight, recognising the achievements of educators and institutions from the state.

The honours also provide national recognition for the individual awardees and schools whose performances earned them places among the leading recipients at the ceremony.

With eight overall category victories and one first-runner-up position, Anambra emerged with nine honours from the 18 presented nationally.

The achievement represents recognition of excellence in teaching, school administration and school performance across the state’s public and private education sectors.
