Amid Links With Mark Pope’s Kentucky, Jamal Crawford Makes Bold NBA Claim
Jamal Crawford has become one of the most talked about subjects in the Big Blue Nation (BBN) discussion forums after he refused to turn down the possibility of joining the Kentucky Wildcats as a coach, but it appears that the initial optimism might finally turn into a degree of skepticism.
That’s because Crawford has now put out a post on social media that suggests his interests in coaching might go beyond just college basketball and may extend till the NBA too, where he claims he can definitely coach.
“I know for a fact I can coach in the NBA…1000%”, Crawford wrote on X amid interest in the NBA legend as a coach across various divisions of the game.
The comment sparked interest from fans too, who gave their thoughts on Crawford’s bold claim.
“There ain’t no question, you absolutely could! I still think you could build ya a little resume at KY win you a chip and then take it to the next level,”one fan said.
“Absolutely! Just need to put some reps in at Lex and you’re there,” another claimed.

Is Jamal Crawford Still Interested in the Kentucky Job?
As things stand, Jamal Crawford is still weighing up his options, and it appears Mark Pope would welcome him with open arms should he decide to pick Kentucky as his next destination.
Any role, however, would be a part of Pope’s coaching staff rather than the head coaching job itself. Crawford has been busy doing commentary during the NBA Finals and clearly believes he can offer something at the biggest stage.
It’s interesting to note that the University of Kentucky’s application for an assistant coach remains open, with the deadline being pushed multiple times. This could be one of the biggest signs that Pope won’t stop till Crawford is a part of his staff.
