All Upcoming Jennifer Lawrence Movies & TV Shows, Including Martin Scorsese’s New Film
In the near future, fans of Jennifer Lawrence have a handful of movies to look forward to from the actress. The next few years promise a busy acting slate for Lawrence, who is set to return to the franchise that made her a household name. But a new installment in The Hunger Games series only accounts for a portion of the upcoming additions to Lawrence’s filmography.
For much of the 2010s, Lawrence was practically everywhere, but after Dark Phoenix in 2019, she stepped away from acting for a while (via Vanity Fair). Her return was gradual, beginning with Don’t Look Up in 2021 and Causeway the following year. She then showed off her comedic side in No Hard Feelings before taking on a much more demanding role opposite Robert Pattinson in Die My Love. With several movies lined up for 2027 and beyond, Lawrence could be heading into her busiest period in years. For fans who grew accustomed to seeing her in theaters almost every year, it’s exciting to have so many new performances to look forward to.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping

Jennifer Lawrence is set to return as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, arriving in theaters on November 20, 2026 (via LionsGate). Based on Suzanne Collins’ 2025 novel, the prequel takes place 24 years before the original Hunger Games and follows 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) as he’s selected for the 50th Hunger Games. Known as the Second Quarter Quell, this year’s competition forces twice as many tributes into the arena.
Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are both listed on IMDb as reprising their roles as Katniss and Peeta. Although neither character has been born during Haymitch’s Games, the novel’s epilogue takes place after the rebellion and brings the three characters together again. Haymitch finally opens up about the people he’s lost, including his girlfriend, Lenore Dove. Katniss brings him goose eggs to raise in her memory, while Peeta builds an incubator for them.
After everything Haymitch has lost, it’s heartbreaking to see Katniss and Peeta help him hold on to the people he loved. The novel is already an emotional read, and the trailers have recreated enough novel moments to suggest the filmmakers understand what made Haymitch’s story so devastating.
If the movie captures even half of what makes Haymitch’s journey so tragic on the page, it’s going to be difficult to get through without crying. Lawrence has confirmed to TheWrap that reuniting with Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson was emotional, describing how much it meant to work with them and other crew members again. That makes the prospect of seeing Katniss, Peeta, and Haymitch together after everything they’ve survived even harder to prepare for.

Jennifer Lawrence will star in The Flood, a science-fiction thriller from Weapons director Zach Cregger, scheduled for release on August 11, 2028 (via TheWrap). Cregger is writing and directing the film, with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment producing. Despite describing The Flood as science fiction rather than horror, Cregger told ScreenRant it could be the most disturbing movie he’s made. Considering what audiences have already seen in Barbarian and Weapons, that’s definitely saying something.
Cregger first started thinking about The Flood while watching Ad Astra with his wife, actress Sara Paxton. The idea of being trapped in space stuck with him, and he eventually developed it into a movie of his own. He’s also pointed to 2001: A Space Odyssey as an influence, although the plot of The Flood remains a mystery. Lawrence has already taken on some difficult roles in films like mother! and Die My Love, both of which put her characters through some pretty horrifying experiences. It’ll be worth seeing how far Cregger pushes her this time, especially given what he’s said about the film.

Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio are starring in What Happens at Night, Martin Scorsese’s adaptation of Peter Cameron’s 2020 novel. They play an American couple who travel to a remote European town to adopt a baby, even though the wife is seriously ill with cancer. Her husband worries that her health could interfere with the adoption, but the couple has already come too far to turn back. They stay at a nearly empty hotel, where the few people they meet, including a mysterious faith healer, only make the place seem stranger.
The film will also star Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson, Jared Harris, and reportedly Charlie XCX will make a cameo (via Variety). This will be Lawrence’s first time starring in a Scorsese movie, although DiCaprio has worked with the director on several films, including The Departed and The Wolf of Wall Street. The couple is already dealing with a difficult adoption and the wife’s worsening health, so the last thing they need is a hotel full of people they can’t quite figure out. According to reports by TheWrap, filming has finished, but there’s still no word on when the movie will be released.

The Wives
To Be Announced
Jennifer Lawrence has talked about her love for Bravo’s The Real Housewives for years, and now she’s set to star in a murder mystery movie inspired by the franchise. She’s set to star in The Wives, inspired by the reality franchise’s wealthy social circles, messy feuds, and endless drama. According to Deadline, Apple acquired the project in June 2024, with A24 producing alongside Lawrence’s company, Excellent Cadaver. Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley are writing the screenplay.
Lawrence has never been shy about her love for The Real Housewives. She’s spoken openly about watching the franchise and has even met several cast members, including Bethenny Frankel and Luann de Lesseps (via Bravo). She’s also no stranger to comedy, having starred in No Hard Feelings in 2023. It’s still unclear how much The Wives will borrow from the reality shows beyond their wealthy cast members and personal feuds, or how the murder mystery will fit into the story. The film remains in pre-production, with no release date announced.

Jennifer Lawrence is attached to star in One Month Mark, a romantic comedy about two people with very different dating histories (via Deadline). The woman has never been in a relationship that lasted longer than a month, while the man has never spent more than a month single. Sophie Fleur de Bruijn is writing the screenplay, but there’s still no word on who will play Lawrence’s love interest or what brings these two characters together.
As reported by Deadline, in October 2026, Gene Stupnitsky entered final negotiations to direct One Month Mark. This would reunite him with Lawrence after No Hard Feelings. Apple is still developing One Month Mark, so there’s no word yet on when filming will begin or when audiences will see Jennifer Lawrence back on screen for this one.
