All Upcoming Cameron Diaz Movies, Including Shrek 5
Cameron Diaz has been a major movie actor ever since her first film role in 1994’s The Mask, and she still has plenty of exciting upcoming roles today, over three decades on. Having made a name for herself via The Mask and then other key film releases like the Shrek series, the Charlie’s Angels movies, and a range of movies in other genres, Cameron Diaz’s fame has been lasting, in no small way because of her efforts to expand her filmography, with the actor recently returning to the big screen after having stepped away from acting in 2014.
This has been most prevalent in the world of comedy, where Diaz started her film career, and where she’s found many of her biggest film successes, as a result of her honed sense of comedic timing and ability to convey comedy protagonists well. Thankfully, this is not set to change for the actor going forward, as all of Diaz’s current upcoming movies delve into the comedy realm at least partly, allowing audiences the chance to see her in further comedy roles that now have the benefit of Cameron Diaz having further honed her talents over the years.
With that said, Cameron Diaz’s upcoming movie roster still delivers an assortment of very different stories across the course of all their respective plotlines, ensuring that you could see each and every one of these films without getting bored or feeling like they rehash the same territory. From ogres to suffering mothers to stories set around wilderness scouts, there’s a little bit of everything in Diaz’s next impending films, which should serve as a delight for fans of the actor hoping to see more of her at her best on-screen.

Bad Day is Cameron Diaz’s next upcoming movie, thanks to its impending December 11, 2026 release date on Netflix. The action comedy is set to star Diaz in a comedy of errors story of sorts, wherein Cameron Diaz’s character Joy finds herself desperately striving to keep her promise to her teenage daughter to make it to her soccer game, even in the face of an accumulating slew of disasters on an increasingly bad day.
Given said bad day involves Joy’s car being towed and the bank wrongly believing she’s trying to rob them when she goes to take out some of her own money, it’s safe to say that the movie offers a dramatic story to say the least, albeit one that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and lets Diaz and the wider cast show off their ability to nail comedy.
Bad Day also features a range of other talented actors with a particular penchant for comedy. This list includes Ed O’Neill, who viewers may best recognize as Jay from Modern Family, and Danielle Brooks, who is most famous for playing Taystee in Orange is The New Black, Leota Adebayo in the DCU’s Peacemaker, and Dawn in A Minecraft Movie. With this in mind, Cameron Diaz seems sure to be supported in the movie by other actors with a vested history in the comedy genre, setting the stage for a film with plenty of laughs.

Of course, the biggest movie on Cameron Diaz’s known upcoming film list is that of Shrek 5. The road for Shrek 5 has been a more complex one, with plans for the movie being initially announced over a decade ago, before it was then revealed that things had changed and Shrek’s fourth film, Shrek Forever After, was intended to be the finale for the main film line.
This wouldn’t last, though, and news that Shrek 5 would indeed go forward eventually graced the world, leading to the current June 30, 2027 release date for the animated comedy fantasy film. The 2027 story sees Shrek and his family go on an adventure that will allow the ogre to have his first proper movie storyline alongside his now older children, who have previously only really been focused on as babies.
One of the main promising updates around Shrek 5 and its cast is the news that the beloved film series’ most central stars will return, with Mike Myers reprising his role as Shrek, Eddie Murphy reprising his role as Donkey, and Cameron Diaz returning as Fiona.
By the time of Shrek 5, Cameron Diaz will have been playing Fiona for 26 years, which is no small feat. It also means the actor has had almost three decades to hone her capacity in the role. As such, Shrek 5 seems positioned to let Diaz and her fellow returning actors deliver strong performances that are the result of the iconic animated series having been able to continue on for so many years up until now.
Troop Beverly Hills Sequel

Troop Beverly Hills was not a critical or box office darling during its initial 1989 release, but has earned a kind of cult following since then, owing to its naturally comedic premise of a well-to-do Beverly Hills housewife becoming the den mother of an unruly group of girl guides, and its heartwarming overall focus on the importance of supporting one another, which has been praised as a subtle feminist message.
In mid 2026, it was announced that a Troop Beverly Hills sequel was in the works, this time with Cameron Diaz at its helm, both starring in the movie, and producing it (as per Deadline). With recent history having delivered a range of fiscally and critically successful sequels to older films that have had a more long-term impact – such as the results for Top Gun: Maverick and The Devil Wears Prada 2 – the timing of the Troop Beverly Hills follow-up seems a well-timed one, that bodes well for the prospective reactions to the film when it eventually debuts.
Currently, it seems both plot details and anything regarding the currently untitled Troop Beverly Hills sequel’s release date or even window are being kept under wraps, though in the latter case, this may simply be a matter of the film not having a planned time for the movie to debut as of yet until further progress is made.
Untitled Romance Movie With Stephen Merchant

Cameron Diaz’s currently untitled romcom which sees her co-starring alongside Stephen Merchant was one of the first announcements of 2026 regarding both actors, as reports about the movie and plans for it emerged in January 2026 (via Deadline).
While the title of the film is yet to be officially revealed, some of its plot has been revealed to us, with the romantic comedy set to be about a workaholic employed at a fancy New York hotel who needs a spouse for appearances, and a struggling comedian who needs health insurance, leading the two into a fake marriage with unexpected knock-on results.
Diaz and Merchant both have considerable experience in the world of comedy and romantic comedies. Stephen Merchant is famously the co-creator and co-director of The Office, and has had roles in romcoms such as Table 19 and Locked Down, and Cameron Diaz is best known for her comedy work in the likes of the Shrek series, as well as her performances in romcoms like There’s Something About Mary.
As such, the duo seem well-equipped to make a romcom that lives up to fans of the genre’s expectations, and furthers the careers of Cameron Diaz, Stephen Merchant, and the rest of the cast and crew too.
