Alabama lands 2027 OL Xavier Endicott after offering on visit: ‘I knew this is the place for me’
For the rising offensive line prospect, the decision was an easy one. Endicott had already developed strong relationships with Alabama’s coaching staff, particularly offensive line coach Adrian Klemm, and knew he wanted to play for the Crimson Tide if the opportunity came.
“I kind of already knew that this was going to happen and that I would commit as soon as I got offered,” Endicott told Rivals. “They’ve kept it real with me, and I knew this is the place for me.”
Endicott’s recruitment started later than most, but Alabama wasted little time making him feel like a priority. The Crimson Tide were the first program to begin communicating with him, and their interest continued growing over the past few months. Saturday marked his fourth visit to Tuscaloosa, and the relationships he had built made his decision straightforward.
“My recruitment started super late, and they were the first school to talk to me and have created a strong relationship over the past couple months,” Endicott said.
Alabama’s proximity to home also played a significant role. Oxford is within driving distance of Tuscaloosa, giving Endicott an opportunity to play SEC football without moving far from his family.
“The love they give me and my family helped me choose Alabama. It’s also very close to home, which matters to me.”
The offer turned what had been a growing possibility into a reality.
Adrian Klemm, Kalen DeBoer played key roles in Endicott’s decision
Alabama’s coaching staff established itself as the biggest factor in Endicott’s recruitment. Klemm developed a strong relationship with the offensive lineman and made a point of including his family throughout the process.
“Coach Klemm is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met,” Endicott said. “He makes my family feel so welcomed and makes me feel great.”
Those interactions helped Endicott become comfortable with Alabama well before he received the offer.
He also connected with DeBoer’s approach to leading the program.
“He’s a great coach,” Endicott said. “I love the standard he holds his program to.”
Endicott wanted a program where he could trust the coaching staff and feel comfortable with the people around him. Alabama consistently delivered on both fronts.
“They make me feel wanted and like I have a home here,” Endicott said.
The relationships became so strong that Endicott didn’t feel the need to continue evaluating other options once Alabama extended the scholarship offer.
Alabama game-day atmosphere adds to commitment excitement
Endicott had already experienced Alabama’s campus and coaching staff on previous visits, but Saturday gave him another opportunity to see the Crimson Tide compete in front of their home crowd.
Two moments stood out during his visit.
“My offer, of course, and hearing the stadium go crazy after that pick-six,” Endicott said.
The environment inside Bryant-Denny Stadium is something Endicott looks forward to experiencing as a player.
“The fans,” Endicott said when asked what excites him most about his future at Alabama. “Playing in front of 100,000 die-hard Bama fans excites me so much.”
The Crimson Tide’s culture, coaching staff and family atmosphere gave him everything he wanted in a college program.
