Al-Qadsiah reaches €61 million club agreement for Tijjani Reijnders

Al-Qadsiah and Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement in principle for Tijjani Reijnders, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The proposed transfer is worth €61 million, but Al-Qadsiah must still convince Reijnders to accept the move to Saudi Arabia. No agreement has been reached with the Netherlands international, leaving his decision as the central part of the transfer.

Nottingham Forest remains interested in Reijnders but has not submitted a fresh proposal. Unless that changes, Al-Qadsiah is the only club with an agreement in place with Manchester City.

Reijnders joined City from AC Milan for a reported €55 million in June 2025. The midfielder signed a five-year contract after being named Serie A’s best midfielder during his final campaign in Italy.

A €61 million sale would allow City to recover its initial investment and make a modest profit after one season. The club would also remove the remaining four years of Reijnders’ contract from its wage commitments.

The 28-year-old made an immediate impression in England. He scored and provided an assist during City’s 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on his Premier League debut and later became a regular part of the midfield.

Reijnders offers more than a conventional central midfielder. He can carry the ball through pressure, move into attacking positions and arrive late around the penalty area, qualities that explain Al-Qadsiah’s willingness to invest more than €60 million.

The decision still presents a major career choice. Reijnders is in his prime, has four years remaining on his City contract and can continue playing in the Premier League and European competition. Al-Qadsiah must present a financial and sporting package strong enough to persuade him to leave after only one season.

Forest could provide another English option, but interest alone does not place the club at the same stage. It would need to approach City with a suitable bid and then reach its own agreement with the player.

Status: Al-Qadsiah and Manchester City have a verbal agreement in principle worth €61 million for Tijjani Reijnders. The midfielder has not accepted Al-Qadsiah’s proposal, while Nottingham Forest remains interested without making a new bid.
