The proposed amendment was forwarded to the Assembly by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for legislative action.

Governor Fintiri, in a letter read during Monday’s sitting by the Speaker, Bathiya Wesley, requested the Assembly to amend the 2024 law.

After the amendment bill was read, the Speaker directed the Chairman of the House Committee on Rules and Business to schedule it for first reading on the next legislative day.
