The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, Kano State chapter, has appointed a three-member interim leadership team to address internal disagreements and restore unity among members.

The appointment followed the resignation of the chapter’s chairman, Dr Goni Faruk Umar.

The interim team comprises Alhaji Isyaku Umar Tofa, also known as Makaman Bichi, Ambassador Bala Mohammed Sani and Hajiya Rabia Husaini Adamu.

The appointments were announced by General Haliru Akilu (rtd) during a joint meeting of ACF Board of Trustees members representing Kano State and the chapter’s executive committee in Kano.

Akilu said the interim leaders would work with the remaining executive committee members to manage the chapter’s affairs for the rest of the current executive committee’s tenure.

He explained that the decision was aimed at resolving disagreements, rebuilding trust and encouraging cooperation among members.

He urged members to put their differences aside and focus on the forum’s common goals rather than revisit past disputes.

“The spirit that should guide every one of us is the same: consultation before decision, integrity before convenience and service before self,” Akilu said.

The retired general called for patience, humility and constructive dialogue, stressing that members should contribute to finding lasting solutions to the chapter’s challenges.

“We took this decision to settle our differences, rebuild trust and promote cooperation among members. I urge everyone to put the past behind us and focus on our shared goals.

“We must consult before making decisions, uphold integrity and put service above personal interests.

“We also need patience, humility and honest dialogue to find lasting solutions to the challenges facing our chapter,” Akilu said.
