Brenden Aaronson has committed his future to Leeds United for three more years after putting pen to paper on a new contract with the club on Thursday.

Aaronson is the third Leeds player this week to sign fresh terms ahead of their Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest, along with Joe Rodon and Jayden Bogle.

The 25-year-old had one year remaining on his previous deal, but he has decided to remain at Elland Road after an impressive 2025-26 campaign under Daniel Farke.

Across his four years at Leeds, Aaronson has made 129 appearances across all competitions, scoring 14 goals as well as providing 10 assists.

He spent time on loan in the Bundesliga with Union Berlin in 2023-24 before returning to Leeds and helping them win the Championship and promotion to the Premier League.

Aaronson played 42 times across all competitions last season, more than any other Leeds player, while also registering nine goal involvements (four goals, five assists).

Only Anton Stach (66) created more chances for Farke’s side last term than Aaronson (37), and he is looking forward to the season ahead.

“It’s a dream come true being at this club and being a part of this project. It’s so ambitious,” Aaronson said. “It’s a beautiful club and I love being here.

“There was no doubt in my mind. I think it was easy for me to make this decision, and I am so excited about what the future has in store.”

Aaronson’s renewal is yet another strong piece of business for Leeds this summer, who have already signed Harry Wilson, Nico Elvedi, Tarik Muharemovic and James Trafford.

Leeds begin their 2026-27 Premier League campaign away to Forest this Saturday at the City Ground, a stadium they have struggled at over the years.

Forest have won their last four home league games against Leeds, while in the top-flight they are unbeaten in 14 against the Whites at the City Ground (W7 D7).

However, Leeds have lost their opening game in just two of their last 18 top-flight seasons (W9 D7), losing to Liverpool in 2020-21 and Manchester United in 2021-22.
