A Pod of Their Own: Expand your roster, expand your mind
Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.
This week, we begin by discussing the latest Mets roster moves as the calendar flips to September and rosters have expanded. Nick Morabito and Justin Hagenman were recalled and we may see Jonah Tong at some point. Juan Soto and Mark Vientos are both back from the injured list and Luis Robert Jr. was claimed off waivers by the Orioles. We also chat about the NL Rookie of the Year race, which is now wide open with JJ Wetherholt on the injured list.
Next, we talk about the latest set of CBA proposals the league has presented to the MLBPA, more teams partnering with prediction markets, and a prospect being suspended in a wild fake age plot.
Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.
