A Pod of Their Own: A slightly more watchable disaster

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space. 

This week, we begin by discussing the fact that the Mets have ironically been a bit more watchable since trading a significant chunk of the roster away at the deadline. We chat about the entirely new Mets’ bullpen—and we’re talking entirely new since Devin Williams has hit the IL—who has a lot to play for next season.

We also discuss Carson Benge accidentally getting rid of Kodai Senga’s first save baseball and Francisco Lindor’s recent comments about wanting to stay a Met. 

We also chat about the first full week of games in the WPBL and Heights standout star Denae Benites. 

Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.
