A.J. Brown's five-word reaction to trash talk at Patriots minicamp

· · 1 min read

New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown had the perfect quote to sum up a competitive minicamp practice between the offense and defense on Thursday.

“The real dogs come out,” Brown said, when asked about the trash-talking at practice.

There were dogs on both sides of the ball for the Patriots at practice.

The offense has been completely revamped with an improved offensive line, along with the additions of Brown and Romeo Doubs at receiver. That unit was testing itself against a defense that ranked amongst the best last season. Even without star cornerback Christian Gonzalez, things got feisty in a hurry on the practice field.

One of the storylines coming out of the session was practice ending early after edge defender Bradyn Swinson accidentally collided with quarterback Drake Maye. Both players fell to the ground and ultimately walked it off in the end.

The Patriots are a little more than a month away from the start of training camp. If the intensity at minicamp was any indication, things are going to heat up significantly later this summer.
