49ers WR Mike Evans exits early with injury vs. Commanders

· · 1 min read

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans has been dealing with rib and Achilles injuries in recent weeks that have kept him out of practice. While that didn’t keep him out for Week 7 against the Washington Commanders, he didn’t stay on the field for long.

After a 16-yard completion on second-and-15 late in the quarter, Evans left the field before halftime and headed to the locker room. ESPN’s cameras caught him rubbing his Achilles in the hallway.

Right before halftime, the team announced that he’s questionable to return with that Achilles injury.

Despite the injuries, Evans has been a monster on Monday, catching three passes for 94 yards and helping the 49ers establish a 20-3 lead over the Commanders through the first two quarters.

If Evans can’t go in the second half, Brock Purdy will have Jacob Cowing, Jordan Watkins, Brandin Cooks and Malik Turner to throw to at wide receiver after the break.
