49ers host Dolphins in home-opener: Live updates, winners and losers

The San Francisco 49ers entered their Week 2 matchup with the Miami Dolphins following their overseas win season opener in Melbourne, Australia, defeating the Los Angeles Rams.

The Niners are back at their home site, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, where they look to capitalize on the team’s 1-0 start to the 2026 season.

They opened the season with a dominant win against Rams, 27-7 and there were many things to take away from the game, like how receiver Mike Evans is a natural fit in the Bay Area and the reunion of Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw and Nick Bosa has more impact than some thought. Despite suffering injuries to De’Zhaun Stribling and Jake Tonges, San Francisco goes into Week 2 with confidence in their overall depth.

They host the Dolphins, an inexperienced team that is still searching for an identity. Miami is coming off of a Week 1 loss, 27-13, to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Niners have been able to take care of business, but still can get caught in a trap game situation if they overlook the Dolphins.
