3 unanswered questions before training camp: Carolina Panthers edition

· · 1 min read

The Carolina Panthers are a team on the rise, especially since quarterback Bryce Young has had a bit of a career resurgence. But year four will be the year that it is time to throw away the training wheels and start slinging it after being selected over C.J. Stroud during the 2023 NFL Draft. Young has made huge strides and is ready to lead Carolina, but as we continue our “3 unanswered questions” series, the Panthers cannot escape us finding ways to come up with questions to perfect their craft, or something like that…

How much momentum will the Panthers carry into 2026? Well, after head coach Dave Canales took the Panthers from 5-12 in his first season and improved to win three more during his second while winning a terrible division, momentum is up. Carolina almost beat the Rams in the NFC wild card game, which adds to the franchise’s and its fans’ optimism.

The clock is already ticking on Carolina’s 2024 first-round pick, Xavier Legette. He has been a major disappointment so far and could very well be passed up by Jalen Coker or Chris Brazzell II. He already lost his spot to Tetairoa McMillan last season. Will he get enough targets in a very talented/hungry wide receiver room?

Third-year running back out of Texas, Jonathan Brooks, will need to produce when healthy after a two-year wait for the franchise and back-to-back ACL surgeries. It’s not his fault, but the NFL is still a “what have you done for me lately” league. He will need to live up to his second-round draft-pick pedigree and will have a massive opportunity to do so in camp.
