We assumed things would happen fast when the Las Vegas Raiders announced they has signed their own rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza. Here are our big three takeaways from the news.

Will Howard was the better quarterback in Steelers minicamp but now the team’s two young quarterbacks can square off in training camp to see if either guy can earn the backup spot behind Aaron Rodgers.

Speaking of contracts, it is time for the team to finally turn its attention to securing a big contract extension for cornerback Joey Porter Jr. If this means a guy like T.J. Watt or DK Metcalf restructuring their deal, so be it, but it is time to get Porter locked up for the long term.
