Arise News anchor, Rufai Oseni, has said that the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has been whipped back in line.

Speaking during Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Wednesday, Rufai said the whole crisis in Rivers State is all about personal interest and not about the people of the state.

His remarks stemmed from recent political developments in the state.

Recall that Governor Fubara during the unveiling of the Rainbow Coalition’s candidates in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, presented the All Progressives Congress, APC, flag to Ogundu Kingsley Chinda, an ally of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, as the party’s governorship candidate in the 2027 general elections.

The governor also declared that Wike is the political leader in the state, calling on those that called him (Fubara) leader during the crisis to stop.

Reacting on Wednesday, Rufai said Governor Fubara, who was fighting to free himself from political godfatherism, has now been forced back in line by powerful forces.

“Fubara has been whipped back in line, and it is all about their interest and not the people of Rivers State,” Rufai said.

He noted that the peace moves and reconciliations being celebrated are not for the benefit of ordinary Rivers people who are suffering, but for the political elites to share power and resources.

Rufai further stated that the people of Rivers State are the ultimate losers in the whole drama, as their interest is not being considered.
